Automations

Automations are the core of EngageDM. Each automation is a rule: when X happens, do Y. You can have as many automations as your plan allows, across multiple posts and trigger types.

Creating an automation

1
Go to Automations → New Automation
Click the + New Automation button in the Automations tab.
2
Give it a name
Choose a memorable internal name like "Free Guide Giveaway" or "Product Link DM".
3
Pick a trigger
Choose what event starts the automation — comment keyword, story reply, or incoming DM keyword.
4
Set your actions
Add a DM to send, an optional public comment reply, or both.
5
Activate
Toggle the automation to Active. It starts monitoring immediately.

Automation status

  • Active — the automation is running and will fire on matching triggers.
  • Paused — the automation exists but will not fire. Use this to temporarily stop without deleting.
  • Draft — incomplete automations that haven't been activated yet.
â„šī¸
Editing an active automation pauses it temporarily during save. It auto-resumes once saved.
